Abilene Christian University scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a 12-10 victory over the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys in the 2012 baseball season opener for both teams at Abilene, Texas, on Friday.
Chuck Duarte delivered a go-ahead RBI single for the Wildcats with one out in the bottom of the eighth. ACU's Josh Stone pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning to close it out.
Nate Wilder went 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs batted in for Arkansas Tech, while Madison Beaird went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs.
Tech and Abilene Christian will continue their season-opening series on Saturday, Feb. 4, with a doubleheader beginning at 2:05 p.m.
