Millard-Henry Clinic Skyline earned the top overall prize in the 2024 Paint the Town Green and Gold community spirit contest presented by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Tech University.
Now in its ninth year, Paint the Town Green and Gold is an initiative that invites local businesses and non-profit organizations to show their support for ATU by decorating their buildings in an Arkansas Tech theme.
Additional winning businesses and organizations included JBT Corporation (best outdoor display), Crossfit Russellville (tie, best first-time entry), Cardiology Associates of North Central Arkansas (tie, best first-time entry), Millard-Henry OB/GYN Clinic (best indoor display), C&D Drug Store (Tech pride) and Friendship Pottery Worx (most creative Jerry the Bulldog).
Thirty-five businesses and non-profit organizations participated in the 2024 competition.
“This year’s spirit competition was incredible,” said Angela Bonds, director of leadership, government and university affairs for the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Watching the company employees come together and promote ATU always creates a lot of energy and pride. Many companies highlight their alumni that work at the businesses. Lots of Jerry the Bulldog paintings were created on windows and doors. Judging day is always a fun day.”
All businesses and non-profit organizations that entered the 2024 Paint the Town Green and Gold community spirit contest will receive complimentary tailgating space and game tickets when the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys host Oklahoma Baptist University for the football season opener on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium in Russellville.
Tailgating will begin at 4 p.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The winning Paint the Town Green and Gold entries will be recognized and the traveling trophy will be presented to Millard-Henry Clinic Skyline during the game.
Friendship Community Care, Millard-Henry Clinic, Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation and Simmons Bank are the 2024 sponsors of Paint the Town Green and Gold.
