One new initiative will be established and two existing programs will be strengthened at Arkansas Tech University following the receipt of a $227,900 grant from the Windgate Foundation.
ATU will utilize $107,900 from the Windgate Foundation grant to assist in the development of curriculum that will create a seamless pathway for Arkansas Tech graduates who wish to pursue medical degrees at Arkansas College of Health Education in Fort Smith.
The multi-year grant will also allow for the continuation of the ATU artist in residence program ($90,000) and the Windgate Summer Art Launch for Arkansas Educators ($30,000), a professional development program ATU has provided to K-12 art teachers since 2018.
“This grant furthers the collaboration between the Windgate Foundation and Arkansas Tech University in support of our shared focus on student access, student success and support of the arts,” said Dr. Robin E. Bowen, ATU president. “We are grateful for our partners at the Windgate Foundation and we are excited about what the future holds as a result of this demonstration of support for our students and our mission.”
