The 5th annual Hands On Healthcare is April 26th at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.
Area high school students (9-12 grade) who are interested in the health care industry will have the opportunity to tour the campus and learn from current students and faculty about healthcare professions. Each student will receive a rotation in each field listed and be able to experience these fields through practical application
The purpose of Hands on Healthcare is to expose students to healthcare options and education available in our area and to build interest for students in the medical to increase the number of students who enter these fields.
ATU-Ozark’s health programs include: Cardiovascular Technology- Cardiac Sonography, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Paramedic Emergency Medical Services, Physical Therapist Assistant
UAMS, who partners with ATU-Ozark each year for the event, states that at its core, the Hands on Healthcare is, “helping high school students make more informed health career decisions by exploring a variety of medical careers at a one-day event with no cost to the student or their family.”
