CLL Works Toward Student Success

Arkansas Tech University’s Center for Leadership and Learning is partnering with the Pottsville School District and the Wonderview School District to increase technology use in the classroom.

The Center for Leadership and Learning (CLL) is a partner in the 21st Century Technology Grant, which is funded by the Arkansas Department of Education.  As part of the grant, the CLL will work with teachers to integrate pedagogy and technology into the classroom to improve student success.

The partnership will begin with an introductory session in January, at the Center for Leadership and Learning.

During the session, Dr. Mary Gunter, dean of the Arkansas Tech Graduate College and director of the Center for Leadership and Learning, will visit with educators in attendance.  She adds, “It’s an exciting time for the future of education as we look at the skills needed for success in the 21st century.”

Throughout the partnership, Dr. Shopfner, associate professor, and Brenda Tyler, superintendent of the Wonderview School District, will provide professional development opportunities to enhance learning by implementing technology.

The Center for Leadership and Learning is housed at the Lake Point Conference Center.  Dr. Gunter says the facility is “equipped to serve as a model for the 21st century classroom.”
