Arkansas Tech University alumni and friends will gather in the Spa City for a “Day at the Races.” Arkansas Tech alumni will meet at Oaklawn Racing and Gaming in Hot Springs on Saturday, March 20, to watch the horse races and connect with other Tech alumni.
The races for the day begin at 1 p.m., and organizers say there will be a reserved seating area for Tech fans throughout the day.
One highlight of the event will be the fifth race of the day. The fifth race will be named the Arkansas Tech Alumni Classic.
Angela Bonds, director of alumni relations, says she hopes lots of Tech graduates are able to make the trip to Hot Springs. She adds, “We hope to have a great day in Hot Springs with lots of alumni joining us for the event.”
This is the second time the Arkansas Tech Alumni Association has hosted an event at Oaklawn. Last year, about 50 alumni gathered to watch the races.
All alumni and friends are invited to attend, and tickets are $7. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the alumni office, and there are a limited number of tickets available.
