Arkansas Tech alumnus Lance Carpenter is a finalist in a Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) song contest. Carpenter, along with Scott Tonkinson, wrote a song that has been selected as one of ten finalists in the competition.
The song is entitled “I Would Be Too,” and it was selected from more than 2,000 entries.
Carpenter has been a member of the NSAI since 2006, and he says many of the songs he writes are a reflection of his family roots.
The competition is presented by Country Music Television, and the winner of the competition will receive a mentoring session with a music publisher and tickets to attend the 2011 Country Music Television Awards.
The winning song will be selected by voters, and the voting will run through Friday, February 26. Click here to vote in the contest.
