10:30 a.m. — Good morning from Southaven, where it is championship Sunday at the GSC Tournament. First up is the women’s title game between Arkansas Tech and Delta State. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
10:35 a.m. — Here is the media coverage run down for the day. Both games today can be heard live in the Russellville area on radio station KWKK 100.9 FM. That broadcast will be streamed over the Internet and it can be accessed by clicking here. The games will be televised regionally by Comcast Sports Southeast and Cox Sports Television. The television broadcast is scheduled to be shown in the Russellville area on Suddenlink cable channels 2 and 119.
10:40 a.m. — Arkansas Tech comes into today’s game with an overall record of 27-2. The Golden Suns defeated West Florida and Harding to reach the championship round. Delta State is 25-2 this season after defeating West Alabama in the first round and Valdosta State in the semifinals of this weekend’s tournament.
10:45 a.m. — Delta State has won four consecutive GSC Women’s Basketball Tournament championships. The Lady Statesmen will try today to become the first program to ever win five consecutive titles at the GSC Tournament. Delta State has won the women’s GSC Tournament in 16 of its 22 appearances in the event, and this is the 20th time that DSU has reached the final. No other GSC school has won the women’s tournament more than twice.
10:50 a.m. — This is Arkansas Tech’s ninth trip to the GSC Women’s Basketball Tournament championship game since 1998. The Golden Suns defeated West Florida in 1998 and Central Arkansas in 2003 to win the title. Tech’s other six appearances in the championship game have all come against Delta State, and the Lady Statesmen have won all six of those meetings. DSU beat Tech in the GSC final four straight years from 1999-2002 and in back-to-back years in 2007 and 2008.
10:55 a.m. — Tech and Delta State split their two regular season meetings this year. The Suns beat the Lady Statesmen 56-47 in Russellville on Jan. 23. The loss snapped Delta State’s 12-game winning streak over Tech in women’s basketball, a streak that dated back to 2005. Delta State evened the season series by topping the Suns 71-61 in Cleveland, Miss., on Feb. 20.

12:00 p.m. — Starters for Arkansas Tech: Natalia Santos, Ashley Chisum, Laura Beth Anderson, Jenny Vining and Jessica Weatherford.
12:01 p.m. — Starters for Delta State: Bug Cooper, Moe Bell, Jessica Collins, Denesha Henderson and Veronica Walker.
12:14 p.m. — Golden Suns start 0-for-7 from the field and turn the basketball over three times in the early going. Delta State leads 8-1 with 15:10 to go in the first half. Bug Cooper with four points for DSU.
12:22 p.m. — Tech uses an 8-3 run to pull even at 11-11 with 11:40 left in the first half. Suns have made four straight field goal attempts.
12:41 p.m. — Arkansas Tech 28, Delta State 25 with 3:48 to go until halftime. Natalia Santos with 13 points and seven rebounds. Veronica Walker picked up two early fouls for DSU.
12:51 p.m. — Arkansas Tech 31, Delta State 30 at halftime. Natalia Santos has 14 points and Jessica Weatherford has nine points for the Golden Suns. Bug Cooper and Veronica Walker lead Delta State with eight points apiece.
1:15 p.m. — Jenny Vining’s layup gives Tech a 38-34 lead with 17:07 to go. Timeout Delta State.
1:26 p.m. — Tech leads 42-40 with 12:24 left in the second half. DSU has scored the last four points in this game.
1:28 p.m. — DSU on a 6-0 run to tie the score at 42-42 with 11:18 left. Santos with 18 points and Weatherford with 11 points for Tech. Veronica Walker leads DSU with 18 points.
1:32 p.m. — Suns lead 46-44 with 9:28 to go.
1:35 p.m. — Veronica Walker’s 3-point play puts Delta State in front 47-46 with 7:55 left. Walker with 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Lady Statesmen.
1:39 p.m. — Shaquilah Davis makes a free throw for Tech; score tied 47-47 with 7:08 left.
1:49 p.m. — Arkansas Tech 53, Delta State 50 with 2:55 left. Natalia Santos has 22 points and 13 rebounds for Tech.
1:59 p.m. — Suns lead 59-58 with 19.6 seconds left.
2:01 p.m. — Tied 59-59 with 1.9 seconds left. Tech’s ball. Timeout.
2:03 p.m. — Bug Cooper hit 1-of-2 free throws with 1.9 seconds left to tie it at 59-59. Going to overtime.
2:19 p.m. — Suns score the final five points of overtime to force a second overtime. Tied 68-68 with another five minutes on the clock. Veronica Walker and Shameka Russell have both fouled out for DSU.
2:30 p.m. — Tech 75, DSU 73 with 58.5 seconds left in double overtime.
2:35 p.m. — Natalia Santos makes a steal at the top of the key as time expires to preserve a 75-73 Arkansas Tech win in double overtime. The Golden Suns are champions of the GSC for the first time since 2003, ending DSU’s run of four straight years at the top.
2:37 p.m. — Santos had 28 points and 15 rebounds, while Weatherford finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns.
2:46 p.m. — Natalia Santos is the GSC Tournament MVP. Jessica Weatherford named to all-tournament team.
