Hundreds of new freshmen will make the transition to college on Saturday when they move into the residence halls at Arkansas Tech.
Saturday morning entering freshmen will begin moving into their assigned residence halls at 8:30 a.m. Once freshmen have moved into the halls, they’ll be able to register for TECH Connect in Room 242 of the Doc Bryan Student Services Building.
The Office of Student Services has several events planned for new students and their parents Saturday afternoon.
At 11:30 a.m., parents and students will be treated to a welcome lunch in Chambers Cafeteria. Organizers say Arkansas Tech staff members will be on hand to visit with students and their parents during the luncheon.
The Office of Greek Life will host a welcome reception for students from 1-3 p.m. in the Young Game Room. During the reception, students will be able to learn more about Greek life at Arkansas Tech.
There is a special orientation session for parents Saturday at 1:30 p.m. As part of the session, the Office of Parent Relations will visit with parents about ways to stay connected to Arkansas Tech and ways to help their student succeed.
Saturday afternoon, students will begin meeting with their resident assistants in the residence halls to learn more about Arkansas Tech and ways to get connected to campus.
