Arkansas Tech’s Laura Farney has earned her second consecutive Gulf South Conference West Division offensive player of the week award after helping the Golden Suns post a 6-0 record last week.
Farney (photographed), a 6-foot junior outside hitter from Morton, Ill., had 63 kills and a .362 hitting percentage last week.
Her play helped the Golden Suns go undefeated at the University of Alabama in Huntsville/Country Inn and Suites Tournament.
For the season, Farney has recorded a team-high 186 kills. She also has 156 digs, 22 blocks and 10 service aces in 2010.
Arkansas Tech (12-3) will return to the court when it hosts Ouachita Baptist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
