Student groups are working hard building floats for the 2010 Homecoming Parade will that begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Downtown Russellville.
This year, the parade will feature almost 30 groups. Approximately 20 of the groups are in competition to win monetary prizes sponsored by the Student Government Association.
The parade route will begin across from the Russellville Chamber of Commerce at 708 West Main Street, travel east on Main Street, take a left turn on Commerce Street and proceed to the Russellville Depot on West C Street.
Parade participants are asked to not throw candy from vehicles. Officials say it is fine if candy is distributed by people walking down the street as long as it is not thrown.
Arkansas Tech is fortunate to have the opportunity to celebrate another centennial homecoming this year. Arkansas Tech was created by law in 1909. This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the academic school year.
