More than a week of waiting and wondering will come to an end for five Arkansas Tech University students when one of them is crowned Tech’s 2010 Homecoming queen during pre-game ceremonies at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field on Saturday, Oct. 16.
Morgan Austin of Atkins, Lacey Blevins of Russellville, Katherine Colling of Russellville, Taylor Moses of Ozark and Julie Paladino of Clarksville were chosen for the 2010 Arkansas Tch Homecoming court during elections on Thursday, Oct. 7.
More than 1,000 Arkansas Tech students cast a vote in the election. The member of the court who received the most votes in that election will be crowned 2010 Arkansas Tech Homecoming queen during ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field in Russellville. Kickoff for the Homecoming football game between Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas is scheduled for 6 p.m. that evening. Austin (photographed, top right) is a senior early childhood education major. She is a member of the Arkansas Tech cheerleading squad, which nominated her for Homecoming court. Her parents are Rita and Greg Austin of Russellville. Blevins (photographed, second right) is a junior early childhood education major. She is a member of Chi Alpha Christian Ministry, Upward Bound Alumni and the Student National Education Association. Chi Alpha nominated Blevins for Homecoming court. Her parents are Patricia and David Blevins of Russellville. Colling (photographed, third right) is a senior biology education major. She is active in Phi Mu, Chemistry Club, Young Republicans and the National and Arkansas Science Teaching Association. Phi Mu nominated Colling for Homecoming court. Her parents are LuAnn and Robert Colling of Russellville. Moses (photographed, fourth right) is a junior physical education major. She is involved in Delta Zeta and the Health, Physical Education and Wellness Science Club, which nominated her for Homecoming court. Her parents are Tammy and David Snow of Subiaco and Gayla and Danny Moses of Hackett. Paladino (photographed, fifth right) is a senior with a major in political science and a minor in speech. She is a member of the Arkansas Tech debate team and Pre-Law Society. She was nominated for Homecoming court by the Pre-Law Society. Her parents are Sherryl Paladino and Steve Paladino, both of Clarksville.
