Members of the Arkansas Tech community still have time to receive their flu vaccination from the Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center.
Health and Wellness Center officials say they are accepting appointments for any student, faculty, staff or family member who still needs to receive the flu shot.
The vaccine is free for Arkansas Tech students and $10 for faculty, staff and family members.
The Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness Center is located in Dean Hall Room 126, and appointments can be made by calling 479-968-0329.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates each year in the United States 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu, and the CDC says a flu shot is one of the best ways to protect against the flu. Read additional CDC suggestions to protect against the flu.
According to the CDC, the “flu vaccine protects against the three main flu strains that research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season,” and this year’s flu vaccine protects against three new strains of the flu.
