Kim Thanh Childress of Batesville has been selected as one of 29 representatives from Arkansas Tech University in the 2011 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Childress served as editor of the Arka Tech student newspaper. She was also a producer and news anchor for the student television station at Arkansas Tech.
A member of the Dean’s List in multiple semesters, Childress held membership in the Arkansas Tech Presidential Leadership Cabinet, the Student Activities Board, the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Up ‘til Dawn and Alpha Phi Omega. She volunteered at the 2009 Girls of Promise Conference at Arkansas Tech.
The Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA) selected Childress as producer/director of the year in spring 2010 for her television work. She also received ACMA television awards for sports reporting, news reporting and feature reporting.
Wife of Tim Childress, Childress graduated from Arkansas Tech in December 2010 with a degree in broadcast journalism.
