Arkansas Tech completed a four-game series sweep of the Christian Brothers Lady Buccaneers with a pair of wins at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville on Saturday.
Tiphani Moon hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Arkansas Tech a 2-1 win in game one.
Amy Horne (6-1) went the distance in the circle for the Suns. She allowed one run on five hits.
The Golden Suns won the nightcap 3-0.
Tech’s Hayley Hudson was 3-for-3 with two solo home runs.
Alex Doyle (12-9) tossed a two-hit shutout for the Suns to earn the win.
Arkansas Tech finishes the regular season with an overall record of 33-17 and a GSC record of 23-7.
The Golden Suns will now prepare for the GSC Tournament, which will be played May 6-8 in Southaven, Miss. Arkansas Tech was runner-up at the GSC Softball Tournament in 2008 and 2009.
