International students began orientation Saturday as new students moved on campus to begin their college career.
Saturday, various sessions were hosted for students to get their student ID cards, go on campus tours, and learn about academic integrity and expectations, technology, and policies of the English Language Institute.
On Monday, students will attend advising appointments and register for classes. Additionally, representatives from local banks will share information about setting up an account.
Tuesday, students will be able to visit the banks, attend a health and wellness informational session, and learn more about the cohort intensive master’s degree program.
Wednesday, students will be able to take a shuttle to local shopping facilities to get ready for the school year, and attend an informational session about health insurance.
Yasu Onodera, director of international and multicultural student services, extended his advice to incoming international students to ask questions, take in as much information as possible, meet new people and have fun.
Onodera’s advice comes from his own experience as an international student in the United States. “Studying in the US is a great challenge for all of you, but I know you will be successful. If I could do it, you can do it, too,” Onodera said.
