Tutoring Center Open Now

 

Students needing a little extra help in a variety of classes can stop by the Tutoring Center in Doc Bryan for free academic assistance.

The Tutoring Center offers help with beginning, intermediate and college algebra, calculus, biology, world civilization, economics and composition Monday through Thursday from 6-9 p.m.

During the day, various academic departments also use the Tutoring Center to provide more assistance for students.

The Department of Mathematics offers tutoring Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Department of Biological Sciences offers tutoring on Monday from 3-5 p.m. and Tuesday and  Wednesday from 1-5 p.m.

The Department of Physical Sciences offers chemistry tutoring Monday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m., Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 2-3:30 p.m., and Thursday from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The Tutoring Center is located in Doc Bryan 247 above Doc’s Place.

Tutors employed by Student Success to provide tutoring are upper classmen with a 3.75 or better grade point average. Three tutors are on staff each evening.

Kevin Solomon, associate dean for student success, said he is excited about the departments working toward the common goal of helping students succeed.
