Seven students at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus have been chosen to receive fall 2011 scholarships from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Franklin County.
Established in 1990, the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is aimed at assisting single parents complete post-secondary education in preparation for skilled employment. The following are this semester’s recipients for Franklin County:
Fred Myers of Ozark, $750;
Emily Myers of Ozark, $350;
Miranda Williamson of Ozark, $750;
Wimberly White of Charleston, $750;
Ashley Bland of Ozark, $750;
Amanda McCartney of Ozark, $750;
Shannon Pendleton of Charleston, $750.
Mark your calendar to support the Franklin County single parent scholarship fund by benefiting in the upcoming “Beauties and the Beads,” a benefit luncheon that will be held Friday, Nov. 4. The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church’s Gardner Center, located at 104 S. Fifth St. in Ozark.
