The 15 contestants vying for the title of Miss Tech 2012 will receive a modelling lesson with Joy Murphy of Dance with Joy Enterprises tonight in preparation for the on-stage portion of competition.
The Miss Tech pageant is only days away, and the ladies will have an opportunity tonight to prepare for the swimsuit and evening gown phases of the pageant.
Contestants have already had the opportunity to meet each other at an informational meeting and spa party, and now they will work together to improve their modelling technique, thanks to Murphy’s generosity.
Murphy is the proprietor of Dance with Joy Enterprises and has experience in competitive dance and modelling. She has been a long-time supporter of the Miss Tech Pageant.
Tomorrow, the ladies will participate in mock interviews, conducted by friends of the Miss Tech Pageant, to prepare for the intensive 12-minute private interview they will face on Friday as part of the competition.
The pageant will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday in Witherspoon Auditorium. Tickets for the public are $10 and Arkansas Tech students get in free with a valid Tech ID card.

The new Miss Tech will compete for the coveted title of Miss Arkansas this summer in Hot Springs. Miss Arkansas is an official preliminary to Miss America. The Miss America Organization is the leading provider of scholarship assistance for women in the world.
Dr. Jim Collins serves as the executive director of the pageant and in recent years has been named Executive Director of the Year by the Miss Arkansas Pageant. Miss Tech is sponsored by the ladies of Delta Zeta.
