Arkansas Tech University students will be able to save on textbooks, school supplies and clothing items for the fall semester during this weekend’s sales tax holiday.
The Arkansas Tech Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon- 4 p.m. on Sunday for shoppers wishing to take advantage of the tax-free weekend.
Several savings opportunities are available for students in addition no sales tax. Students will also be able to save an extra 11.5% on textbooks, 10% on school supplies, 15% on clothing items and 20% on backpacks.
The savings will also be offered for students making online purchases through the Arkansas Tech Bookstore website. The online shopping hours begin at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, August 4, and run through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 5.
This marks the second year the State of Arkansas has offered a sales tax holiday, and all retailers in the state are required to waive all state and local sales taxes on clothing items, school supplies and textbooks.
