Arkansas Tech University in now providing a blogging service for campus entities and departments interested in expanding their social media footprint. As part of the service, the university has designed a custom Arkansas Tech department theme that expands upon the Arkansas Tech brand.
“When developing this offering, we wanted users to recognize campus blogs as an extension of Arkansas Tech University,” said Phillips. “While department branding was important, we wanted to allow faculty and university personnel to be able to focus on content, and we were able to achieve both goals through custom themes.” Blogs themes also feature responsive design, which will allow blog sites to be accessible from a variety of devices. “As more and more individuals access content on mobile devices, it was important to build this service in a way that would be easily accessible from mobile to tablets and computers,” said Phillips.
