Tech Students Give Back to Community

Fifty Arkansas Tech University students helped make the River Valley a better place on Saturday as part of Green and Gold Give Back Day. The event was hosted by the Office of Student Life and was designed to provide a variety of ways for Tech students to get involved throughout the community. On Saturday, the students took part in several service opportunities including:

  • Landscaping
  • Trail Maintenance
  • Kids Camp
  • Construction
  • Painting
  • Administrative Tasks
  • Activities with Seniors
  • Raking
  • Trash Pickup
The projects helped several area organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Lake Dardanelle, HAWK Center, Hickey Park, Washburn Park, Phoenix Avenue, Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Arkansas Tech. Organizers say they hope to see the event grow each year.
