The Golden Suns have surged into fifth place in the Great American Conference standings, and they are only one-and-a-half games behind third place. The Wonder Boys overcame a 14-point first half deficit and a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the Tigers 66-54 at Tucker Coliseum on Jan. 9. Arkansas Tech was 13-of-17 (77 percent) from the field and 20-of-29 (69 percent) from the free throw line in the second half. Tech is in second place in the GAC men’s basketball standings, one game behind front-running East Central University. The Wonder Boys are on a three-game winning streak and they have earned four victories in their last five games. About the Tigers: Ouachita Baptist will need to play well the final three weeks of the regular season in order to return to Bartlesville, Okla., March 6-9 and have a chance to defend the GAC Tournament championship it won last March.
