Tech to Host Women's Leadership Conference

Students from across campus will come together next month to learn more about leadership when the Office of Campus Life hosts the 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference. The conference will run from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, and participants will learn and engage in sessions on a variety of topics including women’s empowerment, equity, wellness, gender awareness, professional growth and more. Stacy Nadeau will offer the keynote address during the conference. In 2005, Nadeau took part in the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, which was designed to celebrate the diversity of body types. During her keynote, she will discuss the role men and women can play in making the world better for future generations. Emily Bradley, coordinator of leadership and service at Arkansas Tech, helped organize the 2015 conference and hopes it will impact Arkansas Tech students. “This is the first time Arkansas Tech has hosted such a conference,” said Bradley. “We really hope this meets a need for our students and will continue to grow in the years to come.” The conference is open to all Tech students, and the cost to attend the conference is $15. The deadline to pay to attend is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11. Payments may be made in Room 233 of the Doc Bryan Student Services Center. Registration for the conference is taking place on the Campus Life page on theLink. For more information, contact the Office of Student Services at (479) 968-0276.
