Severe Weather Alert for Friday, April 24

The National Weather Service has notified the public of the possibility of severe weather in Arkansas on Friday, April 24, 2015. The NWS Weather Forecast Office in Little Rock outlook for Friday shows the western portion of the state, including Russellville and Ozark, is listed as having a slight risk for severe weather. Arkansas Tech students, faculty and staff are encouraged to review the severe weather procedures outlined on the Department of Public Safety website. In addition, each building at Arkansas Tech has designated shelter zones for use during severe weather events. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the designated shelter zones in the campus facilities they visit on a regular basis. Maps showing the shelter zones are prominently displayed in campus buildings. Students, faculty and staff may register with the Campus Emergency and Outreach Notification (CEON) system to receive alerts when tornado warnings are issued for areas that include the Arkansas Tech campuses.
