SMVA Creates Exhibit Honoring Veterans

The Arkansas Tech University chapter of Service Members and Veterans of America (SMVA) has assembled a display of military memorabilia and artifacts that will be available for viewing during the month of November in recognition of Veterans Day 2015.

The display, which includes items from World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam, may be viewed weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Dean Hall room 111. The exhibit will remain on display through Nov. 22.

According to its page on theLINK, SMVA is a registered student organization that exists “to provide military service members, veterans, and individuals associated with the Armed Forces the resources, support, and advocacy within a social environment to promote success and stability needed for family, education and employment.”

Officers for the student organization include Vance Morris, president; Corey Edwards, vice president; Ashlynn Hill, secretary; Amanda Davis, treasurer; and Sean Coyle, public affairs officer. Jamie Earls and Jordan Denton serve as advisors for the organization.
