Delta State University collected a 15-3 non-conference baseball victory over Arkansas Tech University at Tech Field in Russellville on Tuesday.
The Statesmen (5-3) rapped out 16 base hits, including five doubles and . Will Robertson led the DSU attack by going 3-for-4 with three runs batted in.
Parker O’Dell drove in the Wonder Boys’ first run with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Tech’s Blake King added a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth.
DSU’s Jake Brumfield (1-0) earned the win on the mound. He pitched four shutout innings.
Arkansas Tech starting pitcher Chris McKeehan (0-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs, three of which were earned, on three hits in one inning.
The Wonder Boys (4-6) will host Ouachita Baptist University for a Great American Conference series at Tech Field on Friday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 20. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
