Arkansas Tech University students helped make an impact in the River Valley before heading home for the semester.
Dr. Jason Ulsperger, associate professor of sociology, oversaw a commodity drive for students in his sociology classes.
The classes, along with members of Arkansas Tech’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, collected more than 200 items for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pope and Yell Counties.
The fund provides qualified individuals with resources to pursue a college degree.
The items donated will be used by the organization as part of its fundraising efforts.
“I’m excited so many students wanted to help,” said Sabra Bartlett, executive director of the organization. “We really appreciate all of their work. All of this will help us tremendously.”
