Arkansas Tech University will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2016 with a series of events from Sept. 15-Oct. 12.
Sponsors for Hispanic Heritage Month 2016 events at Arkansas Tech include the Department of Diversity and Inclusion, the International and Multicultural Student Services Office, the Department of English and World Languages, the Department of History and Political Science, the Hispanic Student Association and Sigma Delta Pi.

Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff

Celebrate inclusiveness and multiculturalism by learning about Hispanic culture and how it contributes to the global culture.
Civil Rights March

Peaceful march in honor of Hispanic civil rights leaders who helped shape the Hispanic American experience.
Civil Rights Presentation
5-6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, Young Ballroom
An informational session about advances in civil rights for Hispanic Americans and the movements that made those advances possible.
Tech Talks: “The Wall”

An open forum and safe space to ask questions and share thoughts, beliefs and comments about the proposed idea of building a wall along the United States-Mexico border.
Hispanic Heritage Month Keynote Speaker

Antonio Gonzalez, president of the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, leads the largest and oldest non-partisan Latino voter participation organization in the United States. Time magazine has selected him as one of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America.
Salsa Night

Hispanic Through the Arts
