She stole a glance at him her freshman year, but Brianne Campbell didn’t officially meet Josh Stewart until her sophomore year in their Data Structures class.
While Brianne focused on keeping her test scores high, Josh had other things on his mind. During the middle of the semester, he made a bet with Brianne that he could score higher than her on a test. If he won the bet, she would agree to go out on a date with him. Brianne thought there was no way he would score better than her based on his previous test grades.
“When we got our test scores back, he had beaten me by four points,” said Brianne. “I wish I could say we went on a date and lived happily ever after, but unfortunately, I chickened out and didn’t keep my end of the deal.”
When they had another class together senior year, Brianne did not want to miss her second chance. She offered to help Josh study for a test, and by the end of the semester, they were officially dating. Their first date consisted of bottomless fries, a movie, and a sweet goodnight kiss on the front porch of Brianne’s parents’ house.
The couple got engaged in August 2016 and plan to marry in September 2017.
