Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is encouraging faculty, staff and students to participate in the Day of Giving to Literacy this Thursday.
Mayor T.R. Mc Nutt signed a Proclamation last month that officially made Thursday, May 4, 2017, is “A Day of Giving to Literacy.”
Donation boxes will be placed around the ATU Ozark Campus (in the library, Student Services, Chancellor’s Office, Health Sciences and Wellness Building and Academic Affairs) and at local businesses. All proceeds will go to the River Valley Literacy Council.
All ATU Ozark faculty and staff members who donate $5 or more to the Literacy Council on Thursday will be allowed to wear jeans and a Tech shirt that day.
Donations can also be made online via the event’s gofundme page.
Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus houses the River Valley Literacy Council. The program is in constant need of workbooks and testing supplies. These events help to ensure that the program can continue to help local students.
If you know of someone that could benefit from the River Valley Literacy Council, please call (479) 667-2868.
