Layton Robinson’s arm and Riley Hickerson’s bat made the difference for Arkansas Tech University in a 10-6 non-conference win over Ouachita Baptist University at Rab Rodgers Field in Arkadelphia on Tuesday.
Robinson (2-0) started on the mound and pitched seven innings for the Wonder Boys, limiting the Tigers to one run on four hits while striking out nine.
Hickerson went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in, including a two-run double in the top of the fifth inning that staked Tech to a 4-1 lead.
Shane Pollard hit a solo home run and scored three runs for Tech. Kyle Gibbs was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
The Wonder Boys (18-11) are slated to host East Central University for a three-game GAC series at Tech Field in Russellville on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31.
