Luke Cornett led Arkansas Tech University to a fourth-place finish among 14 teams at the Argonaut Invitational, a men’s golf tournament played Monday and Tuesday at Pensacola Country Club in Pensacola, Fla.
The Wonder Boys had team scores of 279-287-282. Their 16-under par 848 total is the third-lowest 54-hole team score in Tech history.
Tournament host University of West Florida won the team title with a three-round total of 834.
ATU’s Cornett fired rounds of 71-69-67 for a 9-under par total of 207. He finished third in the individual standings and was subsequently named Great American Conference men’s golf player of the week.
Shawn Tsai (T-12th, 69-69-74-212), Austin Gean (T-19th, 71-74-69-214), Ryan Spurlock (T-31st, 68-75-75-218) and Putter Srinoon (T-42nd, 73-76-72-221) also represented the Wonder Boys in Pensacola.
Arkansas Tech will compete in the Natural State Classic April 16-17 in Heber Springs.
