Offensive outbursts in games one and three gave Oklahoma Baptist University a series victory over Arkansas Tech University in Great American Conference baseball at Carl Baswell Field in Russellville on Friday and Saturday.
The Bison defeated the Wonder Boys 12-4 in the opener and 13-2 in the series finale.
Arkansas Tech captured the middle game 5-2 behind the pitching of Hayes Cox (4-3). He limited Oklahoma Baptist to two runs on four hits while striking out nine over six innings.
Tech’s Nolan Withrow got the final three outs for his third save of 2019.
It was the first GAC series loss of the season for the Wonder Boys (20-10 overall, 14-4 GAC), who fell one-half game behind Southern Arkansas University (19-8, 14-3) for first place in the conference standings.
