The Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety reports that two streets on the Russellville campus are partially blocked due to trees that fell during afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday, June 23.
West L Street near Carl Baswell Field (baseball stadium) and West P Street near Dean Hall are both impacted. Navigable detours exist in both situations.
Individuals who are accustomed to accessing North Glenwood Avenue via West L Street may follow this detour:
*Turn right off West L Street to North Fargo Avenue
*Turn left off North Fargo Avenue to West M Street
*Turn right from West M Street to North Glenwood Avenue
Individuals who need to access Dean Hall may do so by passing through the Paine Residence Hall or Turner Residence Hall parking lots adjacent to North Glenwood Avenue.
The outfield fence and first base side dugout at Carl Baswell Field also sustained damage during Sunday’s storms, and there are several limbs and smaller trees down on the west side of the ATU campus.
Crews began working to remove the fallen trees on Sunday, June 23, and that work is continuing on Monday, June 24.
