Reed to Speak on Producing, Publishing Music

The fall 2019 Arkansas Tech University Interdisciplinary Research Series will continue with a presentation by Dr. Sean Reed on Friday, Sept. 27.

The lecture, entitled “Producing and Publishing Professional Music,” will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Dr. Robert Charles Brown and Jill Lestage Brown Hall room 134. All members of the university community are invited to attend.

Reed is associate professor of music at ATU. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree from Rice University and a doctorate from the University of Rochester. Reed joined the ATU faculty in 2012.

According to information provided by Reed, his presentation on Sept. 27 “will discuss the process of producing a professional music recording, including the selection of repertoire, creating original arrangements, acquiring permission to use the arrangements of others, as well as other issues in creative publishing.”
