Arkansas Tech University’s volleyball winning streak reached nine matches on Thursday night, but it wasn’t easy.
The Golden Suns (10-5 overall, 3-0 Great American Conference) defeated Henderson State 25-15, 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 17-15 at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.
The decisive set was tied 15-15 before ATU’s Rilie Vote recorded a kill and HSU committed an attack error to provide the Golden Suns with their winning margin.
Vote finished with 20 kills. Allie Anderson added 18 kills, Haylee Paladini notched 14 kills, Brianna Merkel made 56 assists and Madison Grantham recorded 25 digs to lead the way for Arkansas Tech.
The Golden Suns will host Ouachita Baptist for a 6 p.m. GAC match at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
