Arkansas Tech University picked up a pair of shutout victories in Great American Conference volleyball during a weekend trip to Oklahoma.
The Golden Suns defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State University 25-22, 25-16, 25-17 at Bloomer Sullivan Arena in Durant on Friday evening.
The Golden Suns finished with a .323 hitting percentage (41 kills, nine attack errors, 99 total attempts), which at the time was their second-highest team hitting percentage of the season.
Arkansas Tech eclipsed that mark during a 25-9, 25-19, 25-19 victory over East Central University at the Kerr Activities Center in Ada on Saturday afternoon.
ATU notched 46 kills against 13 attack errors in 97 total attempts for a season-high hitting percentage of .340.
With the two wins, the Golden Suns (13-6 overall, 6-1 GAC) pulled into a tie for first place in the GAC standings alongside Oklahoma Baptist University (17-4, 6-1).
Arkansas Tech will host Southwestern Oklahoma State University at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville. It will be ATU faculty and staff appreciation night.
