Arkansas Tech University will convene experts in economic development, industry and higher education for a conversation about emerging technology and future workforce needs on Monday, Feb. 24.
Tech for Tech will begin at 10 a.m. in Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Hall, 204 West O Street in Russellville.
“Arkansas Tech University, through its Russellville and Ozark campuses, provides degree programs in science, technology, engineering and computer science whose graduates support companies in various sectors across Arkansas,” said Dr. Judy Cezeaux, dean of the ATU College of Engineering at Applied Sciences. “It is vitally important that our curricula remain aligned with the needs of our state’s industries. We are especially interested in learning about emerging technological trends and how we can best work together to address current and future needs.”
The day will include speakers with expertise on the connection between higher education and economic development, a panel discussion featuring industry leaders and table talks designed to facilitate conversations about the technological workforce needs of Arkansas industries.
“Technology is rapidly evolving and we must ensure that the education we provide evolves alongside to support our student learning and long term success,” said Dr. Barbara Johnson, vice president for academic affairs at ATU.
