Members of the Arkansas Tech University community donated more than 725 non-perishable food items to support River Valley Food 4 Kids during an event hosted by the ATU Department of Public Safety on Thursday, Nov. 19.
ATU faculty, staff and students with fines on record with the ATU Department of Public Safety had the opportunity to retire some or all of their debt with their donations. For every five non-perishable food items given, $10 was deducted from the donor’s fines.
The donated items will assist River Valley Food 4 Kids in fulfilling the need for its holiday break backpack program.
