Arkansas Tech to Celebrate Dr. King’s Life January 17

Arkansas Tech University will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2022 with an on-campus event on Monday, Jan. 17.

Participants will meet at 6:15 p.m. in the courtyard at Baswell Techionery, 306 West O Street in Russellville.

There will be a candlelight march to the south steps of Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Once the march is completed, there will be a reading of highlights from the “I Have a Dream” speech that King delivered from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 28, 1963.

Caylin Allen, graduate assistant for diversity, inclusion and contemporary student services at ATU, will serve as master of ceremonies.

ATU students, faculty and staff as well as members of the surrounding community are invited to attend.
