Four Arkansas Tech University students and one ATU graduate will be among the candidates vying for the title of Miss Arkansas 2022 this summer.
Olivia Battles of Ozark, Kristin Hardy of Benton, Alli Beth King of Rison, Hannah Lomax of Russellville and Sophe Sligh of Hot Springs will represent Arkansas Tech at the Robinson Center in Little Rock June 12-18.
They will participate in four rounds of preliminary competition (interview, on-stage interview/social impact, evening wear and talent) in hopes of advancing to the final night of competition on Saturday, June 18.
Battles, 21, is Miss Johnson County and a senior nursing student at ATU. Her talent is a vocal performance of “A Change Gonna Come.” Battles’ social impact statement is “Be-You-Tiful in Your Natural State.”
Hardy, 21, is Miss Lake Dardanelle and a senior psychology student at Arkansas Tech. Her talent is a performance of “Csardas” on flute. Hardy’s social impact statement is “M.I.N.D.: Mental Illness Never Defines.”
King, 19, is Miss Arkansas Tech University and a junior student at ATU. Her talent is a tap dance to the tune of “Lean On Me.” King’s social impact statement is “Give Y.O.U.: Yourself to Others Unselfishly.”
Lomax, 21, is Miss Historic Batesville and a senior biology biomedical option and music student at Arkansas Tech. Her talent is a performance of “La Malaguena” on piano. Lomax’s social impact statement is “Letters of Hope.”
Sligh, 23, is Miss Metro and a 2021 graduate of Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her talent is a violin performance of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Sligh’s social impact statement is “Live Smart for a Healthy Heart.”
Miss Arkansas is an official preliminary to the Miss America competition.
