As of Friday, July 1, 2022, Arkansas Tech University has transitioned to a new academic structure that seeks to preserve and enhance quality, efficiency and collaboration in support of student access and success.
ATU’s new academic structure was developed by a faculty committee during the fall 2021 semester and approved by the ATU Board of Trustees during its January 2022 meeting.
“ATU’s new academic structure will position the university to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty and other important stakeholders,” said Dr. Julie Furst-Bowe, ATU interim vice president for academic affairs. “It will also allow ATU to pursue new opportunities, particularly in the STEM disciplines. A faculty committee worked tirelessly for months soliciting input and developing this new structure that was approved by ATU’s Faculty Senate, the ATU Board of Trustees and the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.”
The new structure consists of the ATU Graduate College and four undergraduate colleges — the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Business and Economic Development and the College of Education and Health.
College-level leadership is provided by Dr. Judy Cezeaux, dean of the College of STEM; Dr. Jeffrey Cass, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities; Dr. Russell Jones, dean of the College of Business and Economic Development; Dr. Linda Bean, dean of the College of Education and Health; and Dr. Sarah Gordon, interim dean of the Graduate College.
ATU’s college deans are assisted by associate deans Dr. John Krohn (College of STEM), Dr. Erin Clair (College of Arts and Humanities), Tracy Cole (College of Business and Economic Development) and Dr. Tim Carter (College of Education and Health).
