The Arkansas Tech University Office of Financial Aid will offer the community service of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) assistance workshop for prospective college students on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The session will take place from 6-8 p.m. in Rothwell Hall room 138 at 106 West O Street in Russellville. Participation will be free and open to the public.
ATU Office of Financial Aid personnel will be available to help prospective students with the FAFSA, which is the form students need to fill out to receive financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. Each year, more than 13 million students who file the FAFSA get more than $120 billion in grants, work-study funds and low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Education.
The workshop at ATU on Nov. 1 is open to all prospective college students regardless of which institution of higher learning they plan on attending.
Parents and students should each bring, as applicable:
*FSA ID (created prior to the event if possible)
*Identifying information such as Social Security number, date of birth, date of marriage, etc.
*2021 income information such as federal income tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, etc.
*Proof of any untaxed income from 2021 such as child support paid, child support received, veterans’ non-educational benefits, etc.
