Twenty-eight actors and 16 crew members are staging a production of “The Crucible” at Arkansas Tech University this month.
Performances for the general public are scheduled for 7 p.m. nightly on Thursday, Oct. 27, Friday, Oct. 28, and Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Techionery Theatre, 1502 N. El Paso Ave. on the ATU campus in Russellville.
Tickets are $5 and will be available at the Techionery Theatre box office the night of each performance.
Frances Roberson, assistant professor in the ATU Department of Communication and Media Studies, serves as director of the ATU theatre and film program. She said “The Crucible” represents “the largest production ATU theatre and film has hosted in recent memory.”
Faith Spencer, a fall 2021 ATU graduate from Clarksville, is serving as director for ATU’s presentation of “The Crucible.”
Written by Arthur Miller, the play is based upon the Salem witch trials of 1692.
In addition to the public showings Oct. 27-29, the ATU theatre and film program will also perform “The Crucible” before audiences comprised of high school students Oct. 27-28.
