A group of students from the Arkansas Tech University School of Business spent their spring break 2023 in New York City.
Participants in the trip — ATU students Joshua Akasyvonh, Jack Barker, Connor Evans, Lakyn Scriber and Jacob Short — are members of an investment club in the ATU School of Business that invests real funds throughout the year to learn more about the stock market. Per donor guidelines, club members can utilize a portion of their profits (if any exist) to defray the expenses of a trip to Wall Street. The club’s profits this year allowed members to make the trip for $350 per person.
Stops on the tour included the New York Stock Exchange, the United Nations and additional institutions in New York City. The club’s sponsor and tour guide is Dr. Ahmed Elkassabgi, ATU assistant professor of finance.
