Sixteen Arkansas Tech Career Center students were medalists at the 2023 SkillsUSA Arkansas competitions April 11-12 in Hot Springs.
The 10 gold medalists from ATCC are eligible to compete at the 2023 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference June 19-23 in Atlanta, Ga.
ATCC’s SkillsUSA gold medalists for 2023 are Averyella Bales of Russellville (health knowledge bowl), Jose Castro of Russellville (robotics and automation technology), Anna Collins of Pottsville (health knowledge bowl), Dilon Ladd of Russellville (information technology services), Rielly Lemmons of Russellville (health knowledge bowl), Thomas Midgett of Atkins (technical computer applications), Kara Sanders of Paris (computer numerical control three-axis milling programmer), Keith Slaughter of Russellville (health knowledge bowl), Braden Tanner of Russellville (medical math) and Triston Wallace of Atkins (robotics and automation technology).
Brittney Carr of Russellville (first aid/CPR), Landon Garrison of Dover (electrical construction wiring), Jason Kersh of Paris (computer numerical control two-axis turning programmer) and Ethan Newman of Two Rivers High School (medical math) from ATCC earned SkillsUSA silver medals.
Mark Lipscomb of Pottsville (job interview) and Ryan McClaflin of Paris (computer numerical control three-axis milling programmer) were ATCC’s SkillsUSA bronze medalists.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. A non-profit national education association, SkillsUSA serves middle school, high school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

According to the ATCC website, Arkansas Tech Career Center programs lead to “high skill, high demand jobs, striving to help build a well-prepared workforce that supports economic development across the (Arkansas) River Valley Region.”
