The Arkansas Tech University Office of Veteran Services will present the inaugural ATU Military Educational Involvement Fair on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Old Post Road Park in Russellville.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. A variety of ATU Department of Campus Life offices will be represented by staff members with information about the ways in which ATU meets the meets of military-affiliated prospective and current students.
There will be Fat Daddy’s BBQ, inflatable obstacle courses and outdoor games.
The ATU Office of Title IX, the Jerry Cares campaign and Veterans Upward Bound are among the ATU entities co-sponsoring the fair. All military-affiliated individuals enrolled at ATU or considering enrollment at ATU and their families are invited.
ATU provides educational opportunities to an estimated 300 military-affiliated students.
Arkansas Tech University earned the 2022-23 Military Friendly School Silver Award following compilation of data by ratings organization Viqtory Media.
Assessment by Viqtory Media includes analysis of public data sources and proprietary data obtained through an annual Military Friendly Schools survey that is offered to more than 8,800 institutions across the United States.
Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey. Of those, 665 schools earned awards level designations in gold, silver and bronze.
The final determination of Military Friendly status is made by combining the survey scores with an assessment of the institution’s performance in student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer), loan default rates for all students and loan default rates specifically for student veterans.
