Arkansas Tech University will present the ATU Symphonic Band and the ATU Brass Choir in concert on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Witherspoon Auditorium, 407 West Q Street in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.
Dr. Jon Nash, ATU assistant professor of music and associate director of bands, will conduct the ATU Symphonic Band on a program that will include “Metroplex (Three Postcards from Manhattan)” by Robert Sheldon, “Lichtweg/Lightway” by Jennifer Jolley, “The Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre and “Machu Picchu-City in the Sky” by Satoshi Yagisawa.
The ATU Brass Choir will perform “Fanfare from La Peri” by Paul Dukas, “Lux” by Evan Williams and “Allerseelen” by Richard Strauss as arranged by Michael Allen. Brendan Frazier will appear as student conductor on “Fanfare.” Dr. TJ Perry, ATU associate professor of music, will conduct the pieces by Williams and Strauss.
