Arkansas Tech University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in opioid overdose rescue kit training from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 242.
The training will be provided by the ATU Health and Wellness Center and the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
The Arkansas Collegiate Network NaloxBox Bystander Rescue Program was created as a means of helping colleges and universities in the Natural State comply with Act 811 of the 94th Arkansas General Assembly. The program is designed to make intranasal Naloxone readily available on university campuses as an emergency intervention tool with the capacity to reverse an opioid overdose.
Through funding made available by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, ATU has installed 50 NaloxBox stations on its Russellville campus. Per Act 811, opioid overdose rescue kit locations include educational buildings, residence halls, athletics facilities, student unions and the health and wellness center.
